Scotland, Reimagined: A Thank You Trip That Turned Into So Much More
Because sometimes the best gift you can give is time together.
They didn’t want a gift basket or a company bonus. They wanted something meaningful.
When Morgan reached out, she had an idea: to take her husband’s top clients—and their families—on a trip they’d never forget. A thank-you that felt heartfelt and unforgettable. One that made space for real connection, and real joy.
They were planning for 19 people—five families, kids from toddlers to teenagers, and a wide range of interests and comfort zones. It had to be elevated but easy. Logistically seamless, but never stuffy. Kid-friendly without sacrificing luxury. In other words: a Milk + Honey kind of trip.
Not your average company outing—this was a thank-you trip designed to create space for joy, connection, and unforgettable memories.
We started in Edinburgh, where the group checked into The George—a favorite of ours for its location (central but never chaotic), warm hospitality, and just-right rooms. “The George was incredible,” Morgan shared. “Rooms were comfortable with nice amenities, the staff was so kind and helpful, and breakfast ruined continental breakfasts for us forever.”
From there, we layered in the best of Scotland—curated with a lens of wonder, flexibility, and connection.
There was:
A charming walk through St. Andrews
A private round of golf for the gentlemen
An afternoon spent with alpacas (a surprise hit… “The kids enjoyed it, but the adults loved it”)
Hands-on moments like a Highland Games competition led by a guide who became everyone’s favorite Scottish therapist (“Charles was full of wisdom. We joked we’d booked a therapy session disguised as games”)
The kids were never an afterthought. Activities, downtime, and space to be kids were intentionally built in. At night, babysitters from Little Royals arrived, bags full of games and crafts. “They were literal grandmothers who could command a group of overtired, rambunctious children—and leave them begging for them to come back.”
After three nights in the city, the group journeyed into the Highlands. They boarded Land Rovers for a scenic 4x4 safari above Loch Lomond, greeted by a surprise bagpiper on the hilltop and a private clan warrior demonstration.

Then came the showstopper: Inverlochy Castle. Historic, warm, refined. “The rooms were so comfortable, the views were stunning, and the nightly live piano music was wonderful,” Morgan said. “The staff was out of this world. The food? Delicious.”
There were long dinners with a view. Afternoon tea in the drawing room. And the kind of experiences you simply can’t find online—a private whisky tasting, a loch cruise, a falconry demonstration on the lawn.
Throughout the trip, every detail had intention. The beds were just right. The activities flowed. The transitions were smooth, even with a large group. “The trip was incredible. It way exceeded everyone’s expectations,” Morgan wrote afterward. “When 19 people walk away saying it was the 7 best days of their lives—and still enjoy spending time with each other—you’ve done something right.”
That’s the power of a well-matched trip.
At Milk + Honey, we believe the best travel isn’t about ticking boxes—it’s about designing moments that bring people closer. Whether you’re marking a milestone, deepening client relationships, or simply ready to reconnect with the people who matter most, we’d be honored to help you bring it to life.
Because when the details disappear, the memories stay.
