Meet kelsey

It all started when…

A 12 year old walked into a small town travel agency with her Dad to book their family vacation.

For someone who had never been outside of the Midwest, the photos on the wall of exotic, far away locations were mesmerizing! One thing led to another and before I knew it I was "working" (aka volunteering) there after school. Answering phones, filing paperwork, looking up flights. It's true, I love planning travel so much I used to do it for free! Don't tell Bri ;)

Fast forward 10 years and I spent my first month in Europe through a college course and fell. in. love. You know that sense of home you get when everything just clicks? That's me & Europe.

When I decided to pursue my MBA there was really only one option for this anglophile soul - London. While living there I met my now husband (while he was on a 6 week solo trip through Europe & Asia!), moved to California, met Bri and the rest is history.

Travel has shaped everything about who I am and I love being able to bring a piece of that to our Milk & Honey Travelers!

asked and answered

A day in the life: (what does your day to day look like)?

Wake up around 7am, have some devotional quiet time, my husband Joey will get home from the fire station around 8am so we'll catch up over coffee or tea, go on a walk or workout, M+H work, lunch outside (SoCal life!), run errands/get groceries/life tasks, more M+H work, meet up with a girlfriend for Happy Hour, make dinner, go on a bike ride with my husband or catch up on some Netflix, read before bed.

What are you working toward?

Work-wise - growing Milk & Honey into the best boutique travel agency out there through an unmatched attention to detail and care of our clients. Personally - being the best wife, daughter and friend I can be. Showing up for people I love in tangible ways. Learning Italian. Trying to develop a green thumb. Expanding my cooking skills.

What do you like to do for fun?

Explore new places, get coffee or lunch with girlfriends, read, spend time on the lake in Minnesota with family, watch football (Skol Vikes!)

What are some things that bring you joy?

Extra fries at a restaurant, a cappuccino & people watching from cafes on a trip, Clinique moisturizer on long plane rides, re-reading Harry Potter, not being productive & baking some of my Grandma's banana bread

Favorite part of the work you do?

When we hear from a client that an aspect of a trip that we helped add - whether it be a tour we recommended or a restaurant reservation we booked or anything in between - was a highlight of their time away. I love putting the finishing touches on a trip that makes it special and memorable!

favorite place you’ve traveled?

London! But Scotland & Italy are close runners up. All of Europe really..

what do you never travel without?

My Away suitcase, a collapsible water bottle, a cozy sweater, a good book (hard copy - no Kindle here) & playing cards to beat my husband at gin rummy.

your favorite travel memory?

My first night in Europe. I did a J-term World War II class my sophomore year of college and I'll never forget the feeling of walking around London at 1 in the morning my first night there. It was drizzling rain, Buckingham Palace was lit up, and it was magical!

What’s on your bucket list?

I haven't been to the Middle East yet and I would love to do a biblical sites tour of Israel, Jordan & Turkey.
